So, (very ) long time no see but we are back in track, starting with a new review for the well- known Grandiose mascara by Lancome. They blend and mix beautifully.ĬON: The packaging being matte and cardboard made easily gets stained. There is some fall out, but I wouldn’t describe them as too powdery. As most makeup savvies know, you never get the same pigment of a matte eyeshadow on your hand as you do on your eyelid.Īll the shades are really pigmented and I was particularly impressed with the very light shades, as I had troubles finding intense beige nude matte colours in the past. I really hope you can understand the payoff of the colours on my hand. I like the concept of the top three shades being in a much bigger quantity than the bottom shades as they are the ones that most people would normally use on an everyday basis (because honestly, who needs a big pan of black eyeshadow). You can find any brown shade you can possibly imagine, from very light to very dark, with warm or cool undertones and a deep black of course.

It contains 12 totally wearable everyday nude and brown shades.
MAC TANARAMA LIPSTICK DUPE HOW TO
If you know how to use them, they can create the most gorgeous sophisticated looks. To me, one of its competitive advantages is that it only contains matte colours, which is great if you prefer them over shimmery or satin shades. One of the most popular nude palettes out there is Kat von D’s Shade and Light. It’s like noone wants us to own single eyeshadows (or maybe paying for single pans is not profitable enough). It’s like a huge trend (together with matte lipsticks). I totally prefer Hoola but Honolulu is not a bad option if you want to try something more affordable.ĭuring the past months we’ve seen dozens of eyeshadow palettes. VERDICT: If you don’t take into account the packaging and brush, these two products are definitely not dupes in terms of product. It also works much better for people with fair/pale complexions. Overall, in my opinion, Hoola has a much better quality than Honolulu, and it has a softer color that you can easily work with without ending up being funny or orange. And as you can clearly notice, it has a much more powdery effect than Hoola, which results to some fallout. In terms of texture, Honolulu (on the left) is much more pigmented than Hoola, which is not necessarily a good thing for a contouring product as you risk putting too much without realizing it. In terms of color, not sure if it’s very obvious but Hoola is much cooler than Honolulu, which is more of a neutral-warm brown. The difference between them is that the Honolulu brush is much softer but smaller that the Hoola brush, which is not soft at all but in my opinion blends the color much more beautifully.

Both have their own brushes included, in a very nice shape ideal for contouring or highlighting. Here are my thoughts after comparing the 2 products:Īs you can see the packaging has the same style except for the fact that Hoola has the lid attached to it and includes a mirror (which is not that useful-who can contour with such a small mirror). Even though I was pretty satisfied with its results, I was still obsessed with Hoola so there I am owning both. Having said that I thought I should give a try to Honolulu and save my some money. It costs around the 1/8 of the price of Hoola and it very much looks alike in terms of packaging and color. While searching for a more affordable version of it, I came across the Honolulu bronzer from W7.

Unfortunately, it is not very affordable as it costs around 30 bucks. Amazing product with an even more amazing package, a cool brown that is suitable for most light skintones. By far the most reviewed one is Benefit’s Hoola. After the Kardashians made us obsessed with their contouring, all the beauty gurus reviewed dozens of products for that purpose.
